Privacy Policy

Introduction
At SafeRide IQ, we respect your privacy. We believe that the less we know about you, the better. That is why we aim to limit the information we collect to the absolute minimum necessary to provide our Service. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the SafeRide IQ application, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
- SafeRide IQ runs entirely on your device. Your scores, camera frames, audio, and motion data never leave your phone.
- The app makes no network calls of its own. We have no user accounts, no servers that store your data, no analytics, and no cloud sync.
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal information to anyone.
- Location data is used only to open a ride-share app with your pickup pre-filled, and is never recorded or transmitted by us.
- Subscriptions are billed by Apple. We never receive or store your payment information.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to change this policy, which we will do through online posting.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the terms "SafeRide IQ," "we," "us" and "our" refer to SafeRide IQ LLC, the legal entity operating the SafeRide IQ application. The terms "application," "Service," and "product" refer to the SafeRide IQ mobile application and related services. "You" refers to you, as a user of the application.
Disclaimer
SafeRide IQ is a personal wellness and self-awareness tool that measures your coordination, balance, focus, and hand-eye reflexes against your own baseline. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by any government agency, law-enforcement organization, medical body, or standards organization.
SafeRide IQ:
- Is not a medical device or a diagnostic tool for any condition.
- Does not measure blood alcohol, intoxication, drug use, or impairment of any kind.
- Does not measure your fitness or ability to drive, operate machinery, or perform any activity, and should never be used for those decisions.
- Is not valid or admissible for use in legal proceedings, employment screening, or any official capacity.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
SafeRide IQ is a privacy-first, on-device application. The following describes the limited categories of data the app handles, and how it handles them.
Data Stored Locally on Your Device (Never Transmitted)
The following data is stored only on your device using Apple's secure local storage. It is never sent to any server and is never accessible to us or to any third party:
- Emergency contacts you choose to enter: name and phone number for up to three trusted contacts.
- Test history: your coordination scores and per-task results from sessions you complete, stored locally for your reference.
- Personal baseline: a summary of your own typical performance, computed on your device from your prior sessions.
- App preferences: settings such as language selection and onboarding completion state.
You may delete this data at any time within the app's Settings (Clear All Data), or by uninstalling the application from your device.
Data Processed Transiently on Your Device (Never Stored, Never Transmitted)
The following data is captured momentarily during a task, processed on your device using Apple's frameworks, and discarded as soon as results are computed. None of this raw data is saved, logged, or transmitted by us:
- Camera frames: Used by ARKit for the visual-tracking task. Frames are processed in real time and immediately released. No video is recorded or saved.
- Microphone audio: Used by Apple's Speech framework to recognize the sequence you say aloud during the focus-and-recall task. See "Speech Recognition" below. No audio is recorded or saved by SafeRide IQ.
- Motion sensor data: Accelerometer and gyroscope readings for the balance and steadiness task, and for measuring device steadiness during the other tasks. Samples are aggregated into summary statistics and the raw motion stream is discarded.
Speech Recognition
The focus-and-recall task uses Apple's built-in speech recognition to check the sequence you say aloud. Depending on your device and settings, Apple may process short segments of audio on Apple's servers to perform this recognition, under Apple's Privacy Policy. SafeRide IQ does not record, store, or transmit this audio itself, and receives only the recognized text on your device. If you deny microphone or speech-recognition permission, that task will not score speech, but the rest of the app still works.
Location Data
SafeRide IQ requests "While Using the App" location permission for one purpose only: when you tap a ride-share button (Uber, Lyft, Curb, or Waymo) on the Get Home Safe screen, the app obtains your current GPS coordinates and passes them to the selected ride-share app — or to that company's website, if their app isn't installed on your phone — so that your pickup location is pre-filled. The coordinates are not stored, not logged, and not sent anywhere by us except to the ride-share service you chose to open. You may decline location permission, in which case the ride-share apps will open without a pre-filled pickup location.
Payments and Subscriptions
SafeRide IQ is offered as an auto-renewing subscription and/or other in-app purchases sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes all payments. SafeRide IQ never receives, processes, or stores your payment card details or Apple Account information. Your purchase and subscription status is managed on your device by Apple's StoreKit system; we do not operate any billing or account servers. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data We Do Not Collect
SafeRide IQ does not collect, transmit, or store:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials (the app has no user accounts)
- Your IP address or device identifier
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Your contacts list (we use only the contact name and phone number you manually enter)
- Your real-time location for tracking purposes
- Your payment information (Apple handles all billing)
- Any analytics, crash reports, or telemetry (we have no servers and the app makes no network calls of its own)
Use of Your Personal Data
- To provide and maintain the Service.
- To compute your coordination scores and personal baseline on your device.
- To save your test history for your future reference within the app.
- To enable the Get Home Safe convenience features (ride-share deep linking and calling a contact you saved).
SafeRide IQ does not use your data for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose other than providing the Service itself.
Sharing of Your Personal Data
SafeRide IQ does not share your personal data with anyone. We have no servers, no analytics partners, no advertising partners, and no third-party data processors.
The only outbound activity that occurs through the app is when you actively tap a ride-share button or a contact button:
- Ride-share deep links: When you tap Uber, Lyft, Curb, or Waymo, the app passes your current GPS coordinates to that app (or to the company's website, if their app isn't installed). From that point forward, your interaction is with the ride-share company under their own privacy policy.
- Phone calls: When you tap a saved contact, your device's Phone app handles the call.
Separately, Apple provides speech recognition and payment processing as described above, under Apple's own privacy policy.
Retention of Your Personal Data
All data is stored on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete test history, clear your data, or uninstall the application at any time to permanently remove all SafeRide IQ data from your device. Since we have no servers, no copy of your data exists anywhere else.
Security of Your Personal Data
Your data is protected by the same iOS security mechanisms that protect all data on your iPhone, including device encryption when your phone is locked. Because we transmit no data, there is no transmission-layer risk on our side to mitigate.
Third-Party Services
SafeRide IQ does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs. The app uses only Apple's first-party frameworks (including ARKit, the Speech framework, Core Motion, and StoreKit).
When you use the Get Home Safe ride-share features, the app may open the following third-party applications, each governed by their own privacy policy:
GDPR Privacy
If you are within the European Union, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because all your data is stored on your device, you may exercise these rights directly within the app's Settings (view, edit, or delete your history and contacts; uninstall the app to remove everything).
CCPA Privacy (California Residents)
This section supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents.

Children's Privacy
SafeRide IQ is intended for use by adults and is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us — though note that all app data remains on the user's own device and is never transmitted to us.
